Hi, I'm Nathaly.
Mom of three. Hockey rink regular. Emotional support coffee enthusiast. Professional calendar juggler. Part-time snack mule. Full-time finder of everyone’s missing things.

I’m also the woman who once drove from Ottawa to Kingston and back in one one day to watch a hockey game that got cancelled because the power went out.

That is not a metaphor.

That actually happened.

I started Yo-Momma because I was tired of the version of motherhood we keep seeing online — the one with matching pantry containers, soft lighting, children who apparently eat vegetables without emotional negotiations, and moms who wake up at 5 a.m. to journal beside a lemon water.

No thank you.

At 5 a.m., I am not becoming my best self.

I am negotiating with the universe for seven more minutes of sleep.

Yo-Momma is for the moms who are doing their best, losing their minds, loving their kids, forgetting the water bottles, reheating the same coffee six times, and wondering why every school form requires information the school definitely already has.

It’s for the moms who live in their cars, survive on sideline snacks, speak fluent “where are your shoes?”, and know that the phrase “quick question” from a child is never, ever quick.

It’s for the moms holding on by a thread, a drive-thru coffee, and the promise of a good margarita once everyone is finally in bed.

For the moms who are overstimulated, over-scheduled, under-caffeinated, and one group chat away from losing it.

Why Yo-Momma Exists

Yo-Momma is motherhood, unfiltered.

It’s the funny parts, the hard parts, the “did I just say that out loud?” parts, and all the messy middle moments no one seems to include in the polished version of parenting.

This is where you’ll find co-parenting chaos, sports mom survival stories, carpool confessions, and the kind of everyday moments that make you laugh because the alternative is crying in a Costco parking lot beside a 48-pack of granola bars.

This is not a parenting manual.

I am not a psychologist, pediatrician, wellness influencer, relationship expert, life coach, or calm beige mom with a ten-step system.

I am a real mom with three kids, a full-time job, a complicated calendar, a dog who steals shoes, and a Notes app full of things I probably should not send before coffee.

What I do have is honesty. And stories. So many stories.

Yo-Momma exists because motherhood is beautiful, but it is also loud, sticky, expensive, overstimulating, and weirdly full of laundry that no one admits belongs to them.

Sometimes you need advice. Other times, you just need someone to say, “Same. I also have no idea what I’m doing.”

Because being a mom can feel lonely, even when you are surrounded by people asking for snacks. And because we need more spaces where moms can be funny, honest, imperfect, sarcastic, exhausted, grateful, annoyed, and still deeply in love with the tiny humans who are also destroying their homes and sleep schedules.

Yo-Momma is that space.

A place for the moms who love their kids fiercely, but also occasionally fantasize about sitting alone in a hotel room eating nachos in complete silence.

Around here, we believe motherhood does not need to look perfect to be beautiful. A frozen pizza can absolutely be a meal plan. A car can be a kitchen, closet, locker room, mobile office, and emotional support vehicle. Sports schedules should come with a warning label. The group chat is sacred. Coffee counts as a coping strategy. And sometimes, surviving the day is the win.

So, welcome.

Come for the stories. Stay for the sarcasm, honesty, sports mom chaos, slightly unhinged observations, and the reminder that you are not the only one barely keeping it together while pretending to know what “spirit day” outfit is required tomorrow.

This is Yo-Momma: motherhood, but make it honest.

Funny. Messy. A little sweary. And very, very real.
